Gaps and slips

Hearts of Oak extended their lead at the top to 11 points after a 0-1 victory over Heart of Lions at the Kpando Park. Samuel Affum scored on the 11th minute to hand the League a double over Lions who missed a lot of scoring chances.

Defending champions Asante Kotoko crashed to their sixth defeat of the season after a suffering a humiliating 2-1 loss to Gamba All Blacks. All three goals were registered from the spot but it was All Blacks which profited by the half hour mark.

Kessben FC romped to a 3-1 win over Tema Youth at the Anane Boateng Stadium in Abrankese.

Sekondi Hasaacas sealed a 2-1 home win over Bechem Chelsea at the Essipong Stadium.

AshantiGold did very little to their relegation battle as they failed to convert a penalty kick and drew goalless with Wa All Stars.

King Faisal also shared the spoils in a barren draw with Real Tamale United.

Berekum Arsenals were held to a goalless draw at the Golden City Park by Eleven Wise.

Heart of Lions vs Hearts of Oak
In-form and dominant, the Phobians top the league with a nine-point lead. They travel to Kpando tomorrow as they seek to consolidate their position at the top. A 10-point gap separates both sides with Lions desirous of finding the form that once saw them sit at the top of the table. Lions have since seen their chances fade as they hold onto third place but are confident of putting the brakes on Kosta Papic’s side.

Arsenals vs Eleven Wise
Eleven Wise will visit the dreaded Golden City Park to play Arsenals who have remained unbeaten at home stretching over two seasons. Arsenals are eighth and Wise, sixth

Kessben FC vs Tema Youth
The Anane Boateng Park will host the game between Kessben FC and mid-table side Tema Youth. Currently eleventh, Kessben would like to make their season look better to the detriment of ninth-placed Tema Youth.

All Blacks vs Kotoko
Champions Asante Kotoko, holed up in fourth place will be aiming to go one step better when they travel to the Swedru Park to play Gamba All Blacks. The Black Magicians would look to complete a league double over the champions after stunning the Porcupine Warriors 0-2 in the reverse game at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first round. Kotoko, whose hopes of successful title defence continues to look difficult would be keen to go for the three points against an All Blacks side fighting their way clear off the relegation zone.

Faisal vs RTU
Second-placed King Faisal will keep their chase on when they play struggling side, Real Tamale United at the Baba Yara Stadium.It's been ages since one heard of an RTU relegation but there they are at thirteenth.

Does the Glo Premier league need
a long break as it has just had?

AshGold vs All Stars
AshantiGold finished the first round strongly despite still caught up in the drop zone and will play seventh-placed side, All Stars. Venue is the Len Clay Stadium. The Miners need to improve their fifteenth position.

Hasaacas vs Chelsea
At the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Hasaacas, third from bottom will have their work cut out if they are to avoid a further drop when they take on Berekum Chelsea.

Liberty vs St. Mirren
Sporting Mirren, last on the table have a difficult job on their hands as their hopes of a second round revival starts with a game against Liberty Professionals at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

Thing is, when the games are over tomorrow, the question would still remain: does the Glo Premier league need a long break as it has had?
