Nigerian players' money solutions improve

Morning, all.

Winning bonuses are increasing everywhere. I should have been a baller...

Well, you know what they say about hindsight.

The head of a presidential task force for the 2010 World Cup, Rotimi Amaechi, has promised a special bonus of $200,000 to Nigeria if they beat Kenya by no less than 3-0 in a World Cup qualifying tie come this Sunday in Abuja.

Amaechi, who is also Governor of oil-rich Rivers State, had earlier promised the team a bonus of $120,000 for victory over the Harambee Stars this weekend.

However, after watching the Eagles draw 1-1 with Republic of Ireland on Friday in London, an impressed Amaechi has reviewed the bonus upwards.

Despite several major withdrawals, the Eagles, parading several uncapped who showed a lot of heart, were held to a draw at Craven Cottage by the Irish last week.

Besides this special bonus, each player will also receive a win bonus of $5,000 if they pick up maximum points against Kenya.

Nigeria are second in Group B of the qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup after a goalless draw with Mozambique in March, while Tunisia lead the group after a 2-1 victory in Kenya.
