Matchday Pass: Ghana

The hype building around the matches today is unbelievable. I am impressed, really.

What is happening is that Hearts of Oak is playing Eleven Wise while Kotoko faces Berekum Arsenals in the Brong Ahafo region. These are the top, top liners.

And here are the previews for those and other soon-to-be-played games.

Faisal - Bechem Chelsea
King Faisal were in second and have now slipped to the club they play today. The game is at the Baba Yara Stadium and it should be a hot one. At 27 points each, the stakes could not be higher. Opong Abdul Samad of Faisal has 6 goals and is among the top scorers. What impact would he have?

Lions - Tema Youth
6-0 is what Tema Youth won by last time. Lions are surely not in seventh place by conceding such margins. The Kpando park would host this game.

Hasaacas - Liberty
The westerners host Liberty Professionals in Sekondi. Team reports say that Liberty who would be without captain Bawa Mohammed and that may be bad news. The Dansoman team are not accustomed to 11th on the table but that may change with three points.

Kotoko - B. Arsenals
Lions - Tema Youth
Arsenals - Kotoko
Kessben - RTU
All Blacks - All Stars
Hearts - Wise
Faisal - Chelsea
AshGold - Mirren
Hasaacas - Liberty

Kotoko - B. Arsenals
No one is happy after a 6-0 loss. And Arsenals are pouting long and hard after their weekend loss. Ghana's Gunners will be back at their fortress of a park called the Golden City Park. They host Asante Kotoko who are not looking good themselves.

The Porcupines head into the game with a draw behind them and the uncertain future of Isaac Opeele Boateng, their 'down-to-earth' coach. No pun intended. Kotoko have a chance to kill an over two-season unbroken winning streak at home by Arsenals'.

All Blacks - All Stars
It is not always that you see Wa All Stars on top Kotoko and today they would want to consolidate that status in sixth position - or better. All Blacks will be at home at Swedru Park.

Hearts - Wise
At the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, we'll see if all the pre-match hype has been justified. The talk in the press before this game has been big. Hearts lead the table and third-placed Eleven Wise should be a cracking game in a late kick off.

AshGold - Mirren
This is reminiscent of the Newcastle - Boro game played on Monday. AshGold have a lot of relegation fears in their camp and this game would see the Len Clay stadium as witness of a potentially season-changing game for both sides.
