A relatively B-team Black Stars beat Uganda 2-1 in the build-up to the World Cup qualifier against Mali.
It was played at the Tamale Stadium last night - the first Stars game ever in the Northern part of the country. Kick off was 1900hrs.
There were several complaints because the match wasn't shown on telly.
Egypt-based striker Ernest Papa Arko scored after 31 minutes. It is his debut goal. Yusif Chibsah turned home the second goal from close range in the 75th minute.
Uganda had a consolation in the 86th minute.
According to my colleague Samuel Bartels who watched the game for Metro TV, the boys did well and with the inclusion of the Big Boys, the team should be in top shape.
Line-up:
George Owu, John Paintsil, Harrison Afful, Jonthan Mensah, Jonathan Quartey- Bernard Kumordzi, Yusif Chibsah, Samuel Kyere/ Haminu Draman- Opoku Agyemang/Prince Buaben, Joetex frimpong, Papa Arko/Samuel Inkoom
